Career Journey and Accomplishments
Cassandra graduated from Eatonville High School with one year of Running Start at Pierce College, setting the foundation for her strong work ethic and focus on education. In 2000, she began working full-time at All Transmissions & Automotive, her family’s business, where she was immediately recognized for her leadership potential. However, Cassandra’s journey in the business began long before that. At just 13 years old, she started by sweeping and mopping floors and weeding flower beds, learning the importance of hard work from a young age.
As Cassandra gained experience, her responsibilities grew. By the early 2000s, she was writing or overseeing $1.2 million a year in auto repair service, a significant achievement in managing operations and client satisfaction. Starting from the ground up, she gained invaluable hands-on experience, learning all aspects of the business, from customer service to operations management.
Over time, Cassandra’s hard work, dedication, and strategic mindset allowed her to rise through the ranks. She eventually took on the responsibility of managing the entire operation, overseeing a workforce of 20 employees. Her team included 2 service writers, 1 administrative assistant, 1 bookkeeper, 1 outside sales representative, 1 parts person, 1 driver/cleanup person, and 13 highly skilled technicians responsible for the hands-on mechanical work.
Cassandra excelled in her management role, not only maintaining but expanding the business's success. She streamlined processes, improved customer satisfaction, and developed a team atmosphere that contributed to higher employee retention and job satisfaction. Her strong leadership, innovative ideas, and dedication to continuous improvement led to the business thriving under her guidance.
During this period, she continued her studies in business management, marketing, and accounting at Pierce College during the evenings. This additional education helped her sharpen her business acumen and prepared her to take on more complex challenges, equipping her with the skills to lead the business more effectively.
In Cassandra's opinion, she attributes her relentless drive for success to her parents, who demonstrated throughout her life what it means to work hard and achieve one’s goals. Their guidance and example laid the foundation for her entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen, shaping the way she approaches both personal and professional success.
Building a Thriving Dog Breeding Business
In 2011, Cassandra shifted her focus to raising her family while simultaneously building her own dog breeding business. What began as a small operation with 4 dogs, generating $25,000 in sales annually, soon flourished. Over the years, her business expanded to include 38 dogs, 2 full-time employees, and approximately $500,000 in annual revenue through puppy sales, stud fees, commissions, and dog food sales.
One of the hallmarks of Cassandra’s success has been her commitment to perfecting the bloodlines of her dogs to improve their health and longevity. By focusing on genetic combinations, she has been able to produce specific coat colors, further enhancing the appeal and value of her breeding program. Cassandra has dedicated herself to understanding which genetic traits are inherited and how they can be combined to create not only beautiful dogs but also dogs that are healthier and live longer.
Her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for excellence led her to expand her operations further by bringing on 5 co-breeders. This collaboration enabled Cassandra to sell more puppies while maintaining her high standards for health and quality, ultimately creating a larger network and increasing her business's reach.
As the business continued to grow, Cassandra realized that while dog breeding had been an important and rewarding part of her entrepreneurial journey, her expanding role within Share Investments required more of her focus. After careful consideration, she made the decision to decrease her dog breeding business. This shift allows her to direct more of her time, energy, and skills into Share Investments and her family, ensuring a better balance between her professional and personal life.
While she has scaled back her involvement in dog breeding, Cassandra remains passionate about ensuring her dogs’ welfare and the quality of her breeding lines. This strategic decision has also allowed her to balance her professional and personal commitments more effectively while continuing to contribute meaningfully to both businesses.
Property Management Leadership and Real Estate Success
In 2019, Cassandra made the decision to join her family’s property management business, taking on a more significant role in the company’s growth and strategic direction. To prepare for this transition and to ensure she had the necessary tools to succeed in the competitive real estate market, Cassandra obtained her Real Estate Broker’s license. This achievement allowed her to independently manage property acquisitions, removing the need for outside assistance and positioning her as a key player in the company’s operations.
Once fully integrated into the business, Cassandra quickly took charge of managing the property portfolio, overseeing the day-to-day operations, and identifying high-potential properties for acquisition. She served as the project manager for a $2.5 million build of a 12,000 sq ft warehouse and a $500,000 remodel of Share Investments' offices.
In just a few short years, Cassandra’s leadership has contributed to the company's assets growing by over $10 million. In addition, she has secured over $5 million in lease agreements for Share Investments. She recently obtained her Managing Broker’s license and opened her own brokerage, further expanding her impact in the real estate sector. She is now tasked with overseeing the next phase of growth for Share Investments.
Community Involvement and Contributions
Cassandra actively supports ASA (Automotive Service Association), Tacoma Rotary 8, The Tacoma Lariettes, and Eatonville High School’s Football and Equestrian teams. She has helped raise significant funds, organize events, and provide strategic guidance to these organizations, ensuring their continued growth and success.
Conclusion
Cassandra’s professional journey reflects her ability to excel in multiple ventures, demonstrating exceptional leadership and a commitment to excellence in everything she undertakes.
